ionograph.JPEG (152155 bytes)The Alpha Metals Ionograph is the industry standard Ionic contamination tester, specified in all commonly used cleaning standards.  The current 500M series is of modular construction, allowing the user a choice of test modules best suited to their particular application. 

The test module can be controlled by a dedicated command module or, for maximum data manipulation, by a PC with Alpha Metals Powerview Software.

Typical applications for the Ionograph are:

Ionic testing of unpopulated pcb's, either at the pcb manufacturer or at the assemblers factory.  Particularly important if a no clean process is being run.
For assemblers who have a board cleaning process it can be used to check that the cleaning plant is working effectively.  This is very important if highly active fluxes are being used, as if not cleaned thoroughly tracks and components will corrode.
For process control of the quantity of no clean flux applied to a circuit board before wave soldering.
Testing of individual components and lead frames.
